Meeting places and times vary. Last minute changes may be needed due to weather or other issues. It is essential to call in advance. Trips are open to the public. Participation in all our activities is at your own risk and a liability release must be signed if you choose to participate. Appropriate footwear, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, water and snacks recommended.

Saturday, March 6th from 10am to 4pm: Wekiva RiverFest
This years festival will have all the activities of previous years, including "The Eagle Lady", guided hikes, educational displays, live music and kayak raffle. This year orienteering and Wekiva Scenic Investigations have been added - with great prizes! The festival and admission to the Park is free. Activities will include Wekiva Scenic Investigations (WSI), a hunt for the clues that will help you solve the puzzle and earn a chance at one of the great prizes. Pontoon boat rides, guided hike, guided nature tour, guided walking tours, orienteering competitions, nature photography lessons, painting demonstrations, children's activities, environmental exhibits, demonstrations and more. Saturday, March 6th: RiverFest at Volusia County's Gemini Springs Park
Music and family fun. Featured food will be catfish and barbeque. Proceeds benefit local non-profits that serve children and families.

Sunday, March 14 from 2PM to 4PM: Seminole Audubon Society March program
This program will be presenting the touring documentary film "Kilowatt Ours: A Plan to Re-Energize America". It is the story of filmmaker and conservationist Jeff Barrie's journey across the U.S. to document our energy-relating problems and present practical, cost-saving solutions for consumers to apply to their lives. The two-part SAS program will also feature local conservationist Joseph Manning's account of his personal experience at the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Copenhagen, Denmark this past December. A student at Haggerty High School, Manning attended the conference as representative of the Sierra Student Coalition. The meeting will be held at the Seminole County Library in Sanford (150 N Palmetto Avenue, Sanford). Information call 407- 977-4389.

March 15th is the deadline for signing up for the April 23-25th trip to Ft DeSoto. As of March 4th. there are three rooms available and one person willing to share a room.

Saturday, March 20 at 8:30AM: Lake Harney Wilderness Area Field Trip
Lake Harney Wilderness Area (2395 Osceola Fish Camp Road, Geneva, FL). Located on 310 acres on the shores of Lake Harney and the St. Johns River, LHWA offers a diverse assemblage of habitats, which includes a host of wildlife, such as turkey, White-Tailed Deer, Great Horned Owls, lots of songbirds and wading birds in addition to three active Bald Eagle nests. The field trip will include a walk along the historic Flagler Trail to the St. Johns River and a second trail to Lake Harney. Please wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring binoculars, hats, sunscreen and water. Car pool from the Library at 8 a.m. or meet at LHWA at 8:30 a.m. Details and registration 407-977-4389.
